Brown-Selden vows spoken in Tyler ceremony
Sarah Elizabeth Selden and Justin Clent Brown were married Saturday, May 17 at the Villa di Felicita in Tyler. Paul Owen, of Allen officiated. Music for the ceremony was provided by Shelley Norman, pianist; and Emily Slover, Holly Powell, and Gary Starkey, vocalists.
The bride is the daughter of Bryan and Sarah Selden of Tyler and the granddaughter of Rosemary Thompson of The Woodlands and the late Ira George (Buddy) Thompson Sr.; Dorothy and Marion Cooper of Hearne; and the late Grover Selden Jr.
The groom is the son of Gene and Becky Brown of Rusk, and the grandson of Wynema Brown of Rusk and the late Charlie Brown and Hank and Nishia Gardner of Jacksonville.
Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a strapless slim A-line gown featuring a floral motif and tulle lace overlay. Tiny beads, crystals, and sequins gave the entire gown a soft sparkle. A matching headpiece and cathedral length veil completed her ensemble.
Her attendants wore identical floor length gowns in black silk taffeta.
Maids of honor were her sister, Mary Caroline Selden of Tyler, and Ramey Beard of Rusk. Bridesmaids were her cousin, Erin Gray of Houston; the groom's sister, Christy Godwin of San Antonio, Holly Powell of Tyler Stephanie Blanks of Longview; Lacey Veale of Plano; Melissa Ballard of Tampa Fla., Sarah Clayton of Rusk; and Jamie Boyd of Tyler. Junior bridesmaids were her cousins, Jacy and Jenna Gray of College Station. Flower girl was Bailey Godwin, the groom's niece, of San Antonio.
Honor attendants were Tara Daniel, K'anna Fulton, and Ashley Oliver, all of Rusk; Lauren Newton of College Station; and Brynne Southwell, cousin of the groom of Ennis.
Best man was Brady Grimes of Reklaw. Groomsman were Zac Carlile of College Station, Judd Guidry of Jacksonville, Jeff Davis of Mt. Enterprise, Steven Ross of College Station, Brian Vermillion of Jacksonville, his brother-in-law, Tim Godwin of San Antonio; Gary Starkey of Rusk; Trey Todd of Alto; and Jody Dyess of Rusk.
Ushers were Matthew Selden, brother of the bride; Todd Oliver, and Trent Fulton, all of Rusk; Kasey Southwell, cousin of the groom, of Gilmer; and Brant Southwell, cousin of the groom, of Ennis.
Hors d' oeuvres were served prior to the ceremony and after the couple exchanged vows. Mr. and Mrs. Brown joined their guests for dinner and dancing with music provided by Otis and the Metros. Brandon Rhyder also entertained.
The couple ended the night with a fireworks display before leaving for a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii. They will reside in Whitehouse.
Wallace-Lanham engagement
Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Wallace of Rusk, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaime Alexandra, to Reed Monroe Lanham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marks Lanham of Rusk. Miss Wallace is the granddaughter of the late James K. Wallace Sr. and the late JoAnne Wallace, Leigh Tipton of New Orleans, La. and the late Donald J. Rock. He is the grandson of Matilda Card and the late Howard Card of Amarillo and Oleta F. Lanham of Amarillo and the late Billy Lanham. They will be wed June 22 at Eagle's Bluff Country Club in Bullard.

Wedding plans announced
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Maitland of Carthage announce the engagement of their daughter, Ursula Jill, to Sjohn Lee Kelly of Nacogdoches. He is the son of Gene Kelly of Rising Star and the late Jeannine Kelly.
Miss Maitland is a graduate of Carthage High School, Panola College and Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont. She is employed at Luquette Chiropractic Clinic in Nacogdoches.
Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Granbury High School and attended San Angelo State College. He is the franchise owner and operator of The Chicken Express in Lufkin.
Maternal grandparents are the late June Harris and Leila Rae Rogers and the late Juanita Maitland and the late William John Maitland. Pater- nal grandparents are the late L.P. Kelly and the late Ruthie Lucille Shannon and the late Chester and Emma Cunningham. The couple will be married Sept. 29 at the Belguim House in Longview. They will reside in Nacogdoches.
Lyons-Sheffield
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lyons of Alto announce the engagement of their daughter Kayla Marie Lyons to Jovan Joseph (Joe) Sheffield, son of Lewayne and Edith Sheffield of Colmesneil. The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Alto Community Fellowship in Alto.

McElroy-Christian
The engagement of Ashley Nicole McElroy and Neil David Christian has been announced. Miss McElroy is the daughter of Angela McElroy of Hemphill and Bobby McElroy of Garrison. Mr. Christian is the son of David and Barbie Christian of China Spring. The couple will be married at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's in Waco. Miss McElroy is head softball coach and assistant volleyball coach at Rusk High School. Mr. Christian is a student at University of Texas at Tyler.
