Monika Marie Marroquin and Charles Allen Parrish will wed Aug. 11. She is the daughter of Genoveva Marroquin of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Marroquin of Austin. Mr. Parrish is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parrish of Rusk.
David and Sissie Mason of Lake Striker announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Nicole Mason to Hilario Perez Jr., son of Hilario Perez of Tyler and Lucila Enriquez of Rusk. Miss Mason is a 2006 Rusk High School graduate and attends Tyler Junior College. Mr. Prez is a 2005 RHS graduate and is employed at Evans Air Conditioning in Tyler. They will be married at 2 p.m. July 14 in the chapel of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.

Scallon to marry
Rev. Bil Gilbert and wife Prisca of West Columbia are proud to announce
the engagement of their daughter Amanda Marie Gilbert to Samuel Joseph
Scallon, son of Mark Scallon of Jacksonville and Jane Metty of College
Station. Samuel is a graduate of Rusk High School and is currently a 2nd
Lieutenant in training at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, as an army aviator for
the National Guard Active Reserves. Amanda is a graduate of Sweeny High
School and is employed as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department
at Lufkin Memorial Hospital. The couple will be wed by Rev. Bil Gilbert
at 6 p.m. on Aug. 11 at First Baptist Church in Old Ocean.

Grant to wed
Laura and John Battle of Jacksonville are proud to announce the
engagement of their daughter, Megan Delaney to Justin Grant of
Jonesville, Louisiana. Megan is a 2007 graduate of Jacksonville High
School. Justin, son of Lisa Beard of Jonesville, Louisiana and Jerry and
Wanda Grant of Jena, Louisiana is a 2005 graduate of Jonesville High
School in Louisiana. He is employed with Sheehan Pipeline Group. The
couple will wed at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at Love’s Lookout in
Jacksonville.

Lindsey Rae Bateman
Lindsey Rae Bateman and Timothy Barton Langston were married at 5:30
p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Eagles Bluff in Bullard. Lindsey is
the daughter of Bobby and Terry Bateman. Timothy is the son of Timothy
Langston. Dudley Brookshire officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father Bobby Bateman. The DJ was
CMB productions. Maid of Honor was Cristy Knykendall. Matron of honor
was Kelly Bailey. Bridesmaids were Kelli Bateman, Jenna Carter and Casey
Knaupp. Flowergirls were Hannah Titlow and Madeliene Trimble. Ring
bearer was Nicholas Lent. Best man was Phil Bailey. Groomsmen were
Justin Gray, Wes Campbell, Craig Tant and Gonzo Fernandez. Ushers were
Dustin Becker and Chance Hazel.
The reception was held at Eagles Bluff following the wedding. The couple
took a seven day cruise in the Caribbean to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and
Cozumel. They will reside in Tyler. The bride earned a bachelor’s degree
in nursing from the University of Texas, Tyler. She is a registered
nurse. The groom graduated from Christian Heritage High School in Tyler.

Amy Michelle Bowers and David Herman Birdsong will be married at 4
p.m. Aug. 4 at the Alto First Baptist Church. She is the daughter of
Luke Bowers of Tyler and Susan Mims of Whitehouse and is employed at the
University of Texas at Tyler. He is the son of Randall and Verlene
Birdsong of Alto and is the area manager for Oilind Safety in Tyler.

Hargis, Dahlgren exchange vows
Julia Marie Hargis and Mark Richard Dahlgren were united in matrimony at
5 p.m., Saturday, July 21 at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler. Julia
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith D. McCullough of Whitehouse. Mark
is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Richard R. Dahlgren of Oakwood.
Rev. Dr. Stuart Baskin officiated the double ring ceremony. Musicians
were organist Donald Duncan and soloist Mark Johnson. Julia was given in
marriage by her father Keith McCullough.
Maid of honor was sister of the bride Kennedy Hunter of Whitehouse.
Brides maids were sister of the bride Bethany McCullough of Las Colinas,
sister of the bride Kelly McCullough of Dallas, Lori Cain of Flower
Mound, daughter of the groom Emily Dahlgren of Whitehouse and daughter
of the groom Abigail Dahlgren of Whitehouse. Flower girls were Cecily
Basse of Rusk. Ring bearer was Jarrett Basse of Rusk.
Best man was Brian Basse of Rusk. Groomsmen were brother-in-law of the
groom Roger Norrie, brother of the bride Garrett Hargis, brother of the
bride Raymond Hunter and son of the groom Luke Dahlgren. Ushers were
John Hargis, Sam Boebning, Bobby Spillers, Chris Stowell and Derek Cain.
The reception was held at 6 p.m. at the Tyler Women’s Building. The
couple honeymooned in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The couple will live in
Whitehouse.
The bride is a graduate of Whitehouse High School and Texas A&M
University. She is a teacher and cheerleading coach at Jacksonville High
School. The groom is a graduate of Boling High School and the University
of Texas at Tyler. He received his master’s degree from Stephen F.
Austin University. He is a teacher at Chapel Hill. Lauren Avery, Erin
Norrie and Elizabeth Norrie were part of the wedding party.

Peacock united in matrimony
Julianna Chadwick Swanson and Ben Summers Peacock were united by the
Holy Sacrament of Matrimony at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2007. The
ceremony was conducted by Rev. Mark Kusmirek and Rev. John Woodard at
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
Julianna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Randolph Swanson of
Jacksonville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Roberta S. Gray and the
late Dr. M.L. Gray of Jacksonville and Mrs. Mary Grace Swanson of Tyler
and the late Mr. J.C. Swanson.
Ben is the son of Mary and the late Tony Peacock of Jacksonville. He is
the grandson of the late Mr. James Peacock and Virginia Peacock Wiggins
of Jacksonville and Mr. Son (James) Summers and the late Mrs. Johnnie
Parmelly Summers of Nacogdoches.
The couple will reside in New York City, where Ben is pursing a master’s
degree in education from Pace University. He graduated from Texas A&M
University in May of 2004 with a B.A. in History. He is a 2000 graduate
of Jacksonville High School.
Julianna is employed by Harris-Stratex Networks and is a 2005 graduate
of Duke University with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical
Engineering. She is a 2001 graduate of Jacksonville High School.
