Andy and Patti Calcote of Jacksonville are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Corrie Denise Calcote, to Christopher Shawn Snider, son of Jimmy and Debby Snider of Center. Corrie is a graduate of Jacksonville High School 8 and East Texas Baptist University. She is employed as a teacher and coach for Gladewater ISD. Chris is a graduate of Center High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 2000-2004. He is employed with TXU Power Plant. The couple will wed May 26, at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.

Lindsey Rae Bateman, to Tim Langston

Bobby and Terry Bateman of Jacksonville are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Rae Bateman, to Tim Langston, son of Timothy Langston of Tyler and Debbie Vinson of Big Sandy. Lindsey is a graduate of Jacksonville High School and The University of Texas at Tyler. She is employed as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Timothy is a graduate of Christian Heritage High School in Tyler and is employed as a manager at Heartland Ham in Tyler. The couple will wed May 26, at Eagle’s Bluff Country Club in Tyler.

James Clyde Meador, to Samantha Nicole Smith

Robert Meador of Jacksonville and Brenda and Hubert Brumit of Rusk are proud to announce the engagement of their son, James Clyde Meador, to Samantha Nicole Smith, daughter of James and Barbara Taylor of Rusk. James is a graduate of Rusk High School and is employed as a welder with Martin Lake Construction. Samantha is a senior at Rusk High School and is employed with the Army National Guard. The couple will wed April 13, at Jim Hogg State Park in Rusk

The engagement and approaching marriage of Tiffany Jade Worsham and Steven Starkey has been announced. Miss Worsham is the daughter of René Worsham of Maydelle. Mr. Starkey is the son of Cindy and Joel Starkey of Gallatin. The couple will be married at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at Sacred Heart chapel at Rusk State Park.

Katrina DeLynn Nash, daughter of Elvis and Stacey Nash and David Cecilio Andrade, son of Diego and Esther Mendez, were united in marriage at 2 p.m., April 7, 2007, at First Church of the Nazarene in Jacksonville. Andy Cox officiated over the double ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by Dakota Anthony Hutson. Maid of honor was Tamara Sanders. Matron of honor was Julia Andrade. Bridesmaid was Tanya Simmons. Flower girls were Madyson Tippett and Destiny Simmons. Ring bearer was Dakota Anthony Hutson. Best man was Jose Ramos. Groomsmen were Elvis Nash and Juan Mendez. Ushers were Justin and Michael Flannery. A reception was held at The First Church of Nazarene. The bride is a graduate of Frankston High School. The groom is a graduate of ACE High School. The couple will reside in Bullard.

Helm-Blakely announce wedding plans July 28

The engagement and approaching marriage of Julie Ann Helm and Thomas Edward Blakeley has been announced.  

She is the daughter of Joy and Mike Helm of Rusk. Mr. Blakeley is the son of Lola Blakeley of Minden, La. and the late H.L. Blakeley.

The couple will be married July 28 at Rivercreek Farm and Ranch in Tyler. Miss Helm is a graduate of Rusk High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a surgical nurse at Minden Medical Center in Minden.

Mr. Blakeley is a graduate of Minden High School and attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La. and Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. He is currently employed at Venture Insurance Plus in Minden and is a licensed insurance and real estate agent.

Following their wedding they will make their home in Minden.

   Jones-Purma

The engagement of Kristina Gayle Jones and Jesse Orion Purma is announced by their parents, Mark and Kerrie Jones of Alto, and Joe and Judy Purma of Taneyville, Mo. The wedding will be held April 28 at Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The bride-elect has a BS in science from Texas A & M and an MS in physical therapy from TWU. She is currently employed as a physical therapist with the Harris County Hospital District. Mr. Purma is a graduate of the College of the Ozarks with a degree in aviation technology and is employed as a pilot with Continental Express of Houston.

 Massingill-Geren

The engagement of Katy Massingill and Richie Geren has been announced. Miss Massingill is the daughter of Sarabeth and Richard Massingill of Rusk. Mr. Geren is the son of Marelia and Monte Geren of Whitney. She is a Rusk High School graduate and student at Tyler Junior College. He is a graduate of Community High School and Texas A&M University. The couple will be married at 7:30 p.m. July 28 at Eagles Bluff Country Club in Bullard.

Lawson Coke also of Dallas, son of Ms. Sally Summers Coke of Jacksonville, and Mr. Jack Coke, Jr. of Dallas.  Jude is a graduate of Bon Homme High School, Tyndall, South Dakota and the University of South Dakota, Vermillion with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She is a Regional Marketing Specialist for Microsoft in Irving. Lawson is a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Dallas and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. He is a Senior Video Editor for National Dental Network in Dallas. A June 2, 2007 wedding is planned in Tyndall, South Dakota at Saint Leo Catholic Church.

Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O’Dean Slaton, of Austin and is a 2005 graduate of Texas State University and is a Computer Programmer.
