Afton Grove Homecoming (May 2006)
Afton Grove Baptist Church’s Annual Homecoming will be held on Sunday beginning
at 10 a.m. Guest speaker is to be Dr. Joe Pendleton, former pastor. Several
guest singers have been invited. A special offering and tribute will be given
for Vinson Cemetery. A Covered Dish Lunch will follow the services. Everyone is

Earle’s Chapel (June 2006)
homecoming this Sunday
Earle’s Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its Homecoming Memorial Service
on Sunday. The Memorial Service begins at 11 a.m. with former pastor Rev. Steven
Newcomb preaching. Everyone is invited to bring a basket lunch to share
following the service. The Earle’s Chapel Cemetery Association annual meeting
begins at 1:15 p.m. Earle’s Chapel is one of the oldest churches in Cherokee
County, established as a community church in 1859 and as a United Methodist
Church in 1875. The present building was erected in 1889 and remains very close
to the original chapel design of its builders. The church is located on US 79
South, about 3.5 miles west of Jacksonville. Turn north at the Historical Marker
sign. The Rev. Dale Jamerson is pastor.
Linwood Baptist Church plans homecoming (August
2007)
The Linwood Baptist Church will celebrate its annual homecoming Sunday. The Rev. Kenneth Hackney, pastor of the East Wind Baptist Church in Houston, former Alto resident will speak at the morning service. The Rev. Otis "D' Boy" Brown, pastor of the Brookhaven Baptist Church, will be the speaker for the homecoming service at 3 p.m. The public is invited.
Lynches Chapel United Methodist Church
Homecoming is June 2, 2007
The Lynches Chapel community homecoming will be Sunday, June 2, 2007 at the Edith Hendrick pavilion at the Lynches Chapel United Methodist Church. The program will begin at 10:45 a.m. and dinner will be served under the pavilion. The event is sponsored by the Lynches Chapel Cemetery Association.

Mt. Hope MBC celebrates (May 2007)
homecoming Sunday May 20, 2007
Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church will hold their annual homecoming services Sunday, May 20, 2007 with Bro. Don Copeland as the speaker. Singing will begin at 10:30 a.m. and worship begins at 11 a.m. A business meeting, covered dish lunch and an afternoon singing will follow morning services.
Rocky Springs Celebrates 159 Years
Homecoming activities are planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, May 25 at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church. An offering will be taken at the conclusion of the service for the maintenance of the cemetery.
A covered dish luncheon will be served at noon in the church fellowship hall.
Sardis slates homecoming (April 2008)
The Sardis Baptist Church will host its annual homecoming at 10 a.m. April 13, 2008. The Rev. Snidow will speak at the morning service and lunch will be served at noon. The public is invited.
