Located 0.5 mile SW of 2228 CR 1301 (Bagley Rd.), Rusk, TX 75785 on Cherokee CAD Property ID 115494000 owned by Mary Virginia Sherman Family LTD Partnership Estate, C/O Virginia Sherman, 2009 Lotus Blossom St., San Antonio, TX 78247. Find a Grave records 3 graves. Hearsay says there were 80-90 graves (including slaves) on the site.

Over the years this has been a forgotten and overgrown Cemetery. A sign beside the county road 1301 does mark the general area of Medford Cemetery , and work was done in 2007,2009 and 2010 to clear brush and try to reclaim Cemetery. It is possible that parts, if not all, of the
Cemetery aren't easily visible from the county road due to the new overgrowth seen in Google street view images. It is not certain how many graves are located here . In previous volunteer searches 9 sandstone markers were found . Jonathon Medford a slave owner {Cemetery namesake } is buried here with two members of his immediate family including his wife , as well as several of the slaves he owned. Legend is that there was 80 - 90 graves at the Medford Cemetery.
