Virginia Z. White GLADEWATER - Services for Virginia Z. White, 88, of Gladewater, will be on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater, with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs, Texas. Born on November 24, 1921, in Everett, Washington, she died on Monday, May 17, 2010. Virginia was a retired bookkeeper/shopkeeper, ranch manager and housewife. She and her husband, Steven were 41-year residents of a farm just north of Hughes Springs, Texas. Mrs. White had been a resident of Texan Nursing and Rehab in Gladewater for the past four years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years. She is survived by her son, Kevin, and his wife, Cynthia, of Gladewater; granddaughters, Dr. Rachel White and husband Scott Venable of Overland Park, Kansas, Alison Walker and husband Jacob of Flint, Texas, Catherine Flowers and husband Sean of Tyler, Eva "Missy" Pevehouse and husband Brian of Tyler; grandson, John Smith of Longview; and many other extended family and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Dean Hansen, Bob Chauvin, Jacob Walker, Sean Flowers, Brian Pevehouse, Bill Younger and Ron Byers. The family would like to thank LifeCare Hospice, Heart'sWay Hospice and Texan Nursing Home and Rehab for their compassionate care. We appreciate Dr. John Wolcott's nurturing, compassion and presence at all hours. We especially appreciate the time, love and compassion Virginia's sitter, Shirley Odem, had shown to her over the last two years.
