Evelyn Taylor FORT WORTH — Evelyn Duncan Taylor, 85, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at her residence in Fort Worth. A native of Marietta, Evelyn Duncan was born April 3, 1919, to Elbridge and Nile Elizabeth Duncan. She married Ray Joffre Taylor on June 17, 1948. She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin College and attended Southern Methodist University and Denver University. She was a teacher for more than 32 years and a member of Texas State Teachers Association. Her memberships also included Southcliff Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ray J. Taylor; son Jeff D. Taylor and his wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Sydney Lee Taylor, all of Fort Worth; brother "Sonny" Duncan and his wife, Verda, of Talco; nephews, Kenneth D. Dickson and his wife, Judy, of Rockwall, Ronnie Duncan and his wife, Carol, of Troup, Clifton Duncan and his wife, Glenna, of Leonard and Gary Duncan and his wife, Ruthann, of Marietta; and niece, Linda Shivers of Richland, Mo., great nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 6, 2004, in the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, Hughes Springs, with the Rev. Dr. Carroll Marr, of Southcliff Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Creek Cemetery.
