LESTER SMITH

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Lester Julian Smith, 68, of Atlanta, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in a 
Texarkana hospital.  Mr. Smith was born June 26, 1935, in Hughes Springs. He was a roofer, a Baptist 
and a disabled Army veteran.

Survivors include three sons, Lester Wayne Smith and David Harold Smith of Texarkana and Billy Carl 
Smith of Hughes Springs; four daughters, Jeannie Carr and Rhonda Strogen of Lone Star, Texas, Sherry 
Woods of Jefferson, Texas, and Brenda Jean Butler of Hooks, Texas; one brother, John Smith of Lone 
Star; four sisters, Norma Barton and Linda Davis of Hughes Springs, Martha Green of Dallas and Myra 
Fulmer of McLeod, Texas; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. today in Dennis Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Neeley officiating. 

Burial will be under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
