DORIS RANKIN HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Doris Powell "Gran Gran" Rankin, 71, of Marshall, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Rankin was born May 23, 1933, in Hext, Texas. She was retired from Thiokol Army Ammunition Plant and a member of Marshall Missionary Baptist Church and Woodlawn Area Improvement Club. She was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Glenn and Lonnie Clyde. Survivors include her husband, Marion Glenn Rankin; one daughter, Donna Sallee of Marshall; one son, Mark Rankin of Karnack, Texas; three brothers, Bill Powell and Wayne Powell of Linden, Texas, and John Powell of Cumby, Texas; one sister, Betty Johnson of Greenville, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Curtis Hall and Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be in Shelton-Rankin Cemetery.
