MOZELLE PYLAND HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Mozelle O. Pyland, 73, of Hughes Springs died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Pyland was born April 4, 1931, in Bivins, Texas. She was a homemaker, former employee of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home and a member of Hughes Springs First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, James Johnston in 1980 and Duese Pyland in 2002; and one son, Steve Johnston. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Sheila Johnson of Big Sandy, Texas; two stepsons, Joe Wilton Pyland of Duncanville, Texas, and Gary Pyland of Lone Star, Texas; one stepdaughter, Mary Jean Gibson of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Olin Armstrong of Emory, Texas; three sisters, Carolyn Gassett of Dallas and Pansy McCoy and Mary Nix of Hughes Springs; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Curtis Hall and Bryan Peck officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Mesquite.
