Hughes Springs, Texas --Leafie Mason, 87, of Hughes Springs did Friday, October 2, 1998 at her home.
Mrs. Mason was born August 15, 1911 in Cass County, Texas. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Survivors include one sister, Birdie Mason of Hughes Springs.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Hughes Springs with the Rev. Curtis Hall 
officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.

NOTE:  Leafie's pen name was "Pineywoods Pete" and she was known for her poetry.
