William McCoy

Atlanta, Texas - William Whitfield "Tobe" McCoy, 87, of Douglassville, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in Douglassville.

Mr. McCoy was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Cass County, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher, a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and VFW and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Leota McCoy of Douglassville, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Henderson of Douglassville; two sisters, Willie Nolen of Douglassville and Anne Betts of Cornett, Texas; one sister-in-law, Cora Mae McCoy of Douglassville; two grandchildren Shannon Ann Henderson of Arcata, Calif. and Shawn McCoy Henderson of Douglassville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Union Chapel Methodist Church, Cass County, with the Rev. John Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery under direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
