ATLANTA, Texas

Leota May Thompson McCoy, 87, of Douglassville, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Atlanta, Tx.

Mrs McCoy was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Avinger, Cass Co., TX. She was retired from Bowie-Cass Electric Co-op, a volunteer at Atlanta Primary School, a former member of Bowie-Cass Electird Co-op Board of Directors, a member of the Douglassville Methodist Church, the Sunshine class, and Helping Hands. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Whitfield "Tobe" McCoy.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Henderson of Douglassville; three brothers, John Arthur Thompson of Winnsboro, Texas, David Coulter Thompson of Pittsburg, Texas, and Rob Roy Thompson of Longview, Texas; one sister, Effie Louise Hoosier of Texarkana; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Shawn McCoy and Robin Henderson of Douglassville; one granddaughter, Shannon Ann Henderson of Douglassville; one great-grandson, Caden McCoy Henderson of Douglassville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 PM today at Douglassville Methodist Church, P.O. Box 26, Douglassville, TX, 75560.
