Samuel E. "Buster" McCord HUGHES SPRINGS - Funeral services for Samuel E. "Buster" McCord, 90, of Hughes Springs will be 10 a.m., on Friday, June 18, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Interment will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. McCord was born November 27, 1919, in Cass County, to Cozy and Nan Harty McCord and passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, in Hughes Springs. He was a WWII Army veteran, was retired from Lone Star Steel, a member of American Legion Post 351 in Hughes Springs and a longtime member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Bettie McCord of Hughes Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Lovelady of Rusk, Texas, and Joyce Lovelady of Hughes Springs; two grandsons and their spouses, Mark and Monica McCord and Cole and Missie McCord, all of Hughes Springs; six great-grandchildren, Charles and his wife Shelli McCord of Hughes Springs, Stormy McCord of Tyler, Amos McCord and Cozy McCord, both of Hughes Springs, Angela and her husband David Bridges of Gilmer, and Pamela Brandon of Frisco; two great-great-grandsons, Keagan McCord of Tyler, and Jake Bridges of Gilmer. He was preceded in death by two wives, Nancy Circles McCord and Marie High McCord; one brother, Esco McCord; and one sister, Margie McCord. Memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs or American Legion Post 351 in Hughes Springs. Mr. McCord will lie in state today, June 17, 2010, and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
