VASSIE FINLEY

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Vassie Rhea O'dell Finley, 85, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, died Thursday, 
Dec. 18, 2003, in a Mount Pleasant hospital.

Mrs. Finley was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Cass County, Texas. She was retired from Linden Municipal 
Hospital. Her husband, the Rev. Melvin Edward Finley in September 1991, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin David and Ruth Ann Finley of Wichita Falls, 
Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara Sue and Jim Martins of Linden, Texas, and Joann 
Johnson of Mount Pleasant; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Curtis Hall and 
Carl Raleigh officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park under direction of Reeder-Davis 
Funeral Home.
