Rhena Mae Carwile

HUGHES SPRINGS — Funeral services for Rhena Mae Carwile, 88, of Hughes Springs, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs, with the Rev. Heidi Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Inc..

Mrs. Carwile was born April 24, 1923, and passed away June 28, 2011, at a Longview hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Texas Retired Teachers Association. She was secretary in education.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John "Johnny" Lewis Carwile Jr. of Hughes Springs and Roger Dale and Carolyn Carwile of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law, Gwyndyl Carwile Fenton and Jerry Fenton of Gilmer; eight grandchildren, Kristy and Ken Carwile, Greg Fenton, Jennifer Dracos, Shelly Smith, Phillip O'Neal, Jana Martel and David O'Neal Jr.; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Carwile Sr.; a daughter, Lyndyl O'Neal; a sister, Mattie Grubbs; and three brothers, Sperry Black, Hoyt Black and Greer Black.

Memorials may be made to Heart'sWay Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, July 2, 2011, at the funeral home.
