LORENE BURNEY 

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Lorene D. Burney, 84, of Hughes Springs died Saturday, Sept. 6, 
2003, in Longview, Texas, hospital. 

Mrs. Burney was born June 18, 1919, in Vandervort, Ark. She was the former owner of Burney's 
Dairy Terry and a member of Hughes Springs First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death 
by her husband, Ralph Marvin Burney and one son, James Burney. 

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Henry Arlan and Jan Burney and Fred Burney 
of Hughes Springs; one sister, Mildred Shepherd of Mena, Ark.; three grandchildren, Gianna Burney 
of Nashville, Tenn., Kathi Burney of Hughes Springs and Phil Burney of Denton, Texas; four great 
grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mickey 
Rorex officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs Building Fund.
