BERTHA BROOKS

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Bertha "Bea" Brooks, 86, of Hughes Springs died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, 
in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Brooks was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Lonnie Hillegeist of Lone Star, Texas, 
Ida Elisabeth and Richard Shugert of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Marie Gifford of Hawaii; two sons, Robert 
Bowman of Ohio and Lewis Bowman of Billingham, Wash.; one niece and nephew, Louise and Billy Cole 
of Hughes Springs; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie Stevens 
officiating.
