RUFUS BEARD

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Rufus Beard, 69, of Cason, Texas, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, in a 
Mount Pleasant, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Beard was born June 24, 1935, in Daingerfield, Texas. He worked in the pulpwood industry 
and was a member of Shady Grove Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christene Beard of Daingerfield; one son, Rufus Beard Jr. of Modesto, 
Calif.; two daughters, Sally Ann Beard and Lillie May Beard of Modesto; three stepdaughters, 
Foricestein Kidd of Austin, Patricia Mack of Longview, Texas, and Ethel Hayes of Daingerfield; 
two stepsons, Al Hayes of Daingerfield and Bobby Hayes of Cason; two grandchildren; 12 
stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shady Grove Christian Church, Cason with the Rev. A.O. Sasser 
officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
