Merline Barton

HUGHES SPRINGS - Funeral services for Merline Barton, 83, of Hughes Springs, will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Revs. Butch Shipp and Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc.

Mrs. Barton was born January 30, 1927, in Morris County, Texas, to William Loyd Lancaster and Cleo Jacobs Lancaster, and passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at her home.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Pat Barton of Hughes Springs and Bobby and Debbie Barton of Ore City; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Billy McKelvy of Llano; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Larnce Lancaster of Hughes Springs; two sisters, Betty Owens of Hughes Springs and Wilma Boyd of Longview; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; her parents; one grandson, Greg Barton; and one sister, Juanita Gunn.

Mrs. Barton will lie in state today, October 21, 2010, and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.
