Kenny Don Abernathy "Kd"

HUGHES SPRINGS - Funeral services for Kenny Don "KD" Abernathy, 38, of Avinger, will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield, Bro. Larry Neeley and Tommy Kessler officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.

Mr. Abernathy was born on October 21, 1970, in Texarkana, and died October 3, 2009, at a Tyler hospital. He was the Superintendent of Avinger ISD and a farmer and a rancher. Survivors include his wife, Misty; son, Zachary Burks; daughter, Hannah Abernathy; parents, George and Patsy Abernathy; brothers, Robert Abernathy and Ralph Abernathy; and sister, Jana Fitts. Viewing will be until 4 p.m., today, October 7, 2009, at the funeral home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., today, October 7, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Linden.
