11-Year-Old Boy Cuts Finger Off After Snake Bite
Warrentown, Ga. - An 11-year-old boy cut off a finger of his left hand with a pocket knife to avoid danger of poisoning from a snake bite.
Bill Kinsey chose the course after a water moccasin bit him while swimming. His brother demurred at becoming a surgeon so Bill performed the amputation himself. Physicians Wednesday said he did a good job and was getting along splendidly.

H. U. G. Club Hostess To Their Husbands
Last Thursday evening August 13, the H. U. G. club were hostess to their helpmates and several invited guests.
It is useless to say that when the H. U. G. assumed a responsibility of this nature that there wasn't anything left undone, when the tables were set they groaned under the weight of such delicious food, salads, chickens, roast, ham, olives, pickles, cakes, and so many more dishes that you will have to ask I. L. Glass, who has such a delicate appetite, why the table ceased to groan.
After a wonderful feed we enjoyed a happy evening playing games, echoes of laughter were heard when the domesticated husbands tried their skill at putting a pillow case on a pillow in so many minutes. Alfred Harris due to his constant practice was proclaimed as winner, the record being 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Later in the evening progressive Forty-two was played, Barney McDaniel makes a rather nice player if he didn't insist on bidding 25 every time.
Children must be put to bed as well as grown ups so we said goodnight. But we went home with this thought in mind how soon will this happen again, their welcome and hospitality will long be remembered. --Contributed.
