PITTSBURG - Services for William Alfred "Al" Ayers, 62, Pittsburg, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Erman Smith Funeral Home chapel, Pittsburg, with Brother Steve Packer, Gary Huey and Keller Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Springs Cemetery, Camp County.

Mr. Ayers died May 1, 2007, in a Longview hospital.

He was born March 22, 1945, in San Angelo to the late Cecil I. and Opal C. Meglathery Ayers. He was a Methodist and attended Bo Pilgrim's Sunday School Class and was a member of Phi Delta Theta and Texas Tech Alumni Association.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Ayers, Pittsburg; son, Todd Brown, Carrollton; daughter, Traci Townsend, Abilene; brother, Ronnie Ayers, Houston; and five grandchildren.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
