Marriages Start Off in August with A Rush

August promises to eclipse June as a month for marriage, if the first two days are an indication of what will follow. With five licenses issued yesterday and two today, Deputy County Clerk I. Zarete has been rather busy. Those obtaining licenses were:

Mrs. W. E. Coffin and little daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. McGoohan of St. Louis are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jesse S. Thornham.
J. Henry Guyot of Corpus Christi is in the city today.
Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Baird are visiting in San Antonio.
A. Bauer of Phoenix, Arizona is the in city for a few days.
Mrs. R. M. Dalzell has left for New York City to visit the eastern markets for the Harrison Dry Goods company.
Harl Thomas who has been in Tampico since the close of school, spent Sunday in Brownsville, en route to his home in San Benito. He reports that other Brownsville boys who are still in the oilfields are doing well.
F. M. Field of Kingsville is registered at the Travelers.
C. D. Reagan of Tampico is in Brownsville.
Fred Neale, who has been in the oil fields near Tampico for some time, has returned to Brownsville.
J. Ross Brogdon of Montgomery, Texas, is registered at the Miller.
Judge James R. Daugherty of Beeville is in the city for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Burchill of San Francisco are spending a few days in Brownsville.
H. J. Wilson of Galveston is in the city.
W. M. Banks of Mexico City is in Brownsville today.
