William Goodwin
William Goodwin, born about 1830 in Louisa County, Virginia, a son of Hugh and Nicie Ann (Coleman) Goodwin, came to Texas in 1859. He practiced medicine in Burleson County, Texas, from 1859 until the coming of the Civil War, when he enlisted in Col. William H. Parson’s 12th Texas Cavalry Brigade, C.S.A. Dr. Goodwin served through the entire struggle, after which he went to Atlanta, Georgia, where he died in 1880.
