Where We Are
Bowie is the most northeastern county in northeast Texas and named after Jim Bowie. Our neighbors to the north and east are McCurtain County, Oklahoma, and Little River and Miller counties, Arkansas. In the south, we border Morris and Cass counties, Texas. Our parent county, Red River is to the west. Our county seat is Boston but the courthouse is located in New Boston. In 1846, part of the county was given to create Cass and Titus counties.Other Texas counties.
