GROOMS
posted by Charles Campbell on Sunday, July 12, 1998

I am interested in hearing from anyone researching GROOMS. There are four families listed in the 1860 census of Bowie County. Bright Marshall GROOMS and wife Catherine, Right Marshall GROOMS and wife Eliza Ann. Bright Marshall and Right Marshall died in 1862. Living next door to them was R. GROOMS, believed to be Reason, and his wife with two children, and B. GROOMS, newly married, believed to be Bright, son of Stephen Herring GROOMS. Are there any descendants of Reason or Bright living in Texas. Charles Campbell London, England

I am interested in finding out information on the BURNS Family and HUBBARD family from Bowie County. I am really interested in information on my father people. Elias BURNS and Mary PEACOCK and the HUBBARD family. From my understanding some of them are buried in Ceder Springs and Ceder Grove. However, I live in Illinois and it is somewhat difficult to find out anything. I am sure it is a lot of history in the above mentioned cemeteries and also from my understanding, once upon a time a cemetery was named after the BURNS family. If someone read this message I would appreciate it very much if you could walk through the cemeteries and record the names and dates of birth and death of all the BURNS and HUBBARD s that are buried in the above memtioned cemeteries. Thank you very much. I understand that it was a school named after the BURNS in Hooks, TX. Any help I would certainly appreciate.
