WIDOWS & ORPHANS FUND

The material below was kept by Olive Ann Frances Trammell and at her death
her daughter Stella Jo Ballard had saved it. Shortly before Stella Jo's
death she gave this material with other old letters, deeds, papers of many
descriptions, and old photographs to her nephew Bill McCool who has loaned
it to me to use in our Trammell family history. Very little of the material
below will be of use in a family history, but there are others who may be
searching for the dates this material contains. I hope it will be of
benefit to others who had ancestors that lived in Henderson Co, Tx in this
time period.
Submitted by Pauline Mitchell Pierce

The cards begin with No. 22 and a few are missing. On the 7 Oct 1907 they
had a membership of 560, and the membership varied up and down, but by 16
July 1918 which is the date of the last card in the stack the membership
was only 180. This organization evidently ceased to exist after this date,
or Levi and Ollie Trammell dropped out. These notices from 1907 until Oct
1914 were mailed out on a one cent McKinley postal card. In Jan 1915 the
Jefferson one cent post card was used and the last one mailed had a one
cent Washington one cent stamp added to it, cost two cents. Each of these
cards are a little different, so I have typed each one just as they are.

it to the limit, and then organize Company B, and by having Company A to
the limit of 750 members and organizing anohter Company, anyone can carry a
lot of insurance at actual cost. This is the cheapest and best insurance
