Photo taken in 1950's of the SPRINGER monument in King Cemetery, taken by Bettye Springer Smith.  It is a double monument:  Mother and daughter.   Mary Elizabeth (Gardner) SPRINGER born 25 Jan. 1871, died 28 April 1899 in Aley.  (She died 3 days after giving birth to Bettye Springer) my mother-in-law.  The other side of the monument is Orby SPRINGER, b 28 Jan. 1892, died 13 Nov. 1898.  (She was the sister to Bettye SPRINGER).  The unmarked gravemarker to the right of the monument is that of James William SPRINGER.
