Athletic Summary
B.H.S. started the 1945 football season without a coach and was on the losing end in the first three games.
The Navy released Coach McKee and Brownsboro won the next game from Union Grave by making more at first down. The score was dead-locked, 12 all, and penetrations were even.
Coach Freeman and McKee went to work on pass defense and the following week won from Judson Grove, 14 to 6.
Lindale was the next to fall to the Bears with a score of 7 to 0. The game was one of the best the Bears played, as penetrations and first downs were far above what the score showed.
Big Sandy fell to the Bears 13 to 6 in a very slow game.
Seagoville out-played the Bears in the first half and was leading 7 to 0, but the Bears came back and played their best brand of footall during the last half. The Bears won the game with the score of 13 to 7.
Hawkins ran at will over the influenza-weakened Bears which left seven of the first stringers behind. The game ended with Hawkins on the big end of a 38 to 0 score.

The basketball record up to the time before the annual was sent o press:
The Bears played 14 games and won 5.
The girls organized the basketball team late in the season. Up to this time only two games have been played, therefore, it is to early to determine their complete record for this field. We're for the girls, win or lose!
