Walter Jacksons To Hold Open House June 26th

from The Malakoff News

Friday, June 17, 1960

Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Jackson, (1930 census image) longtime residents of the town of
Malakoff, will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary with an
open house at their home, 506 N. College Street, on Sunday,
June 26th between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 p. m.

Mr. and Mrs. Jackson were untied in marriage in this community
June 26, 1910, with the late Rev. I. T. Pace, Methodist minister officiating.

Mr. Jackson, who grew up on a farm in the Jackson Chapel community,
is a son on the late Mr. and Mrs. Zack T. Jackson, (Willie Ann Cone.
1910 Census with Zachoris) and Mrs. Jackson is a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Tom J. Swanson, (1900 census image) all pioneer
residents of this community.

In the open house observance, to which friends of the couple will be
very cordially invited, their only son, Walter L. Jackson, his wife and
their two children, Janice and Walter L. Jr., will assist the celebrants
in receiving and entertaining their guests.

Mr. Jackson is a well-known farmer and stock raiser in this area. For a
period of eighteen years he was identified with the automotive industry
here as owner of Jackson's Garage, operated in the building now occupied
by the Tanner Motor Company. In 1942 he disposed of that interest and
since that time he has devoted his time to his ranching business. Mrs.
Jackson, a native Malakoffian, has been active in church, civic, and club
affairs for many years.

Friends of the family, through the press, are invited to call at the family
home during the receiving hours, as no written invitations are being sent.

The couple requests that no gifts be sent, PLEASE.
