Turkey Creek, Dec. 23.-- Will give a few happening of this place.
The cool norther the past few days has been fine for those that
had hogs
to kill. Several killed hogs Friday and Saturday.
Miss Mildred Ballard spent last week in Winkler,
Texas.
Mrs. S. A. Ballard visited her sick daughter at
Malakoff last week.
A Mr. Holman of near Cayuga was buried one day
last week at the Goodgame
cemetery. The bereaved ones have our sympathy.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Speake spent part of last
week with their daughter, Mrs.
Frank Tapp, of Mabank.
G. T. Cothran of Athens was in our midst
Wednesday.
Quite a few in this section are suffering with the flu.
Mrs. Rufe Hester of Rome is spending the week
with her brothrer, Bud Baker
and family.
The Christmas tree and program at this place was postponed Friday
evening for
the funeral service of Mr. J.J. Whitlock who
suddenly died late Thursday, Interment
was at the Malakoff cemetery. The bereaved family have our
sympathy. Mr. Whitlock
was a good man and neighbor.
Webster Barton of Cross Roads was in our midst
Friday.
Delma Rushing and family are on the sick list.
Miss Mattie Ballard is visiting at Malakoff.
Mrs. Henry Campbell of Garrett, Texas, Mrs.
Grady Cleaveland of Palmer, Texas attended
the funeral of their father, J. J. Whitlock.
Ira Sapp of Oakland had business in this section
Friday.
Bro. L. D. Rose of Athens conducted the funeral
services of J. J. Whitlock.
