Soldier Springs, Sept 11-
We are having lots of rain in this part of the country now, which is delaying cotton and pea picking.
Farmers in this part of the county are wondering what has become of the cotton plow-up proposition. The cotton has been plowed up almost two months, but the checks have not arrived yet.
Several have planted gardens since the rains set in and most of them are up and looking fine.
Rev. Whatley filled his regular appointment at Concord Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. William Lynch visited in the W. F. Rumbo home last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Green and family visited V. F. Weatherly and family Sunday.
Miss Frances Allen and Miss Alice Marie Hanson visited in the T. B. Allen home last week.
Carl Weatherly had business in Athens Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris Davis of Chandler, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Weatherly Sunday.
