Special Correspondence
Soldier Springs, Sept 11-
We are having lots of rain in this part of the country now, which
is delaying cotton and pea picking.
Farmers in this part of the county are wondering what has become
of the cotton plow-up proposition. The cotton has been plowed up
almost two months, but the checks have not arrived yet.
Several have planted gardens since the rains set in and most of
them are up and looking fine.
Rev. Whatley filled his regular appointment at
Concord Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. William Lynch visited in the W. F. Rumbo
home last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Green and family visited V.
F. Weatherly and family Sunday.
Miss Frances Allen and Miss Alice Marie Hanson
visited in the T. B. Allen home last week.
Carl Weatherly had business in Athens Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris Davis of Chandler, visited
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Weatherly Sunday.
