THE LETTER BOX: WANTS TO LOCATE BENNETT FAMILY
Chicago, Ill., Sept. 10, 1930
To the Review:
I am very anxious to locate a lady who lives in or near Trinidad,
or
somwhere in Henderson county whose maiden name was Bennett,
(now a married woman). I do not know her marriage name.
My purpose is to secure from her a record of genealogy which B.
Frank
Bennett of Amarillo, Texas, informs me she has dating back about
1600.
If she will answer this notice, I will be pleased to correspond
with her on
this subject, as I am very anxious to compile the genealogy of
the Bennett
family of which I understand she belongs.
One of the ancestors came from North Carolina and settled in
Carroll county,
Mississippi about 1800. His name was William David Bennett, and
he had a
son, James and James married Nancy Rowland and had five children,
three
girls and two boys. I don't know the names of the girls, but the
boys names
were, David William and John, the latter son is the father of B.
Frank Bennett
of Amarillo, Texas. David William in my grandfather.
Yours very respectfully,
D. W. Bennett
