Pickens Spur, Dec. 4- A beneficial rain fell in this section
Saturday morning, affording
ample moisture for all farming operations and supplied sufficient
stock water.
The Thanksgiving program sponsored by the school children was a
success.
Mr. and Mrs. Truett Green and baby Bettie Louise of Irvin and
Miss Alma Green of
Terrel, Okla. and Mrs. Christanna Green of Tyler spent Wednesday
night with
Mrs. J. R. Green. Miss Alma Green stayed for and extended visit.
The party at the home of Claude Swinney's Saturday night was
enjoyed by all present.
Miss Vesta Lee Reynolds, teacher in the Black Jack school and
Miss Fay Reynolds who
is attending school at Commerce, all spent Thanksgiving with
their parents Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Reynolds.
Mr. and Mrs. Tullie Tarrant of Dallas spent Saturday night and
Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Reagan Tarrant.
T. L. Anderson and Y. V. Earnest were Dallas visitors Monday.
Miss Frankie Pickens, teacher of Fort Worth school, spent a few
days this week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Pickens.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Dingler of Stockard and Mrs. J. R. Green of
this place attended church
at LaRue Sunday.
Born to **Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hagin a 10 pound girl, December 2.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Johnson of
Mabank, spent Friday in
the home of Tom Reynolds.
Dave Trull and Lon Carter of Athens, attended the singing here
Sunday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Armstrong spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
Goodgame at Becks Chapel.
Mrs. Warren of Mabank is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Bernard
Keeton.
