New York, Sept. 7 - School opened here Monday
morning with Mr. and Mrs. Joe OWEN and Mrs. Wayne
BICKLEY as teachers.
Mrs. Bolling HALL nad son of Chandler spent last
week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. FORESTER,
Sr., and her daughter, Mrs. Jack FERRAL, drove over
after her Sunday.
Omer RICHARDSON and family of LaRue spent Saturday
night and Sunday with Mr. RICHARDSON'S brother,
Ballard RICHARDSON.
PrestonDESHAZO is now working at Troup.
C. O. JACKSON and family and Mrs. Orabell WALLACE
of Dixie, Smith county, spent Sunday here.
Ronald OWEN, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D.
OWEN of Palestine spent last week with his grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee OWEN of this place.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom ELLIOT of Dallas spent the
week-end with Mrs. ELLIOT'S parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.
P. MORROW, returning home Monday morning.
Mr. HOOVER of Center, Texas, was here on business
last Friday.
The bus from here was crowded with those that
attended the opening service Sunday afternoon of the
La Poynor school.
Mrs. Arnold KILLINSWORTH and son of Murchison are
spending awhile with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
DESHAZO, while her husband is in Houston on business.
Mr. and Mrs. George CROSSLEY are the proud parents
of a baby boy born to them Friday night. Dr. N. D.
GEDDIE was the attending physician.
J. R. FORESTER, Jr., was in Dallas last Thursday on
business.
Wayne BICKLEY and William GARRETT had business in
Dallas last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond GODSEY and family of Henderson
are spending the week with Mrs. GODSEY'S parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Clint HUDGINS.
Quincy GARRETT of Dallas was here Sunday to spend
the day with his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Y. W.
GARRETT.
Bro. JOHNSON of Athens filled his appointment here
Saturday night and Sunday.
