Leagueville
Word was received here last week of the death of Mr. "Dink" Rounsavall of Alice, Texas. he was a
former resident of Leagueville and well known and loved by the older residents. The bereaved
ones have our sympathy.
A good many from here attended the singing at Union Hill Sunday afternoon. They report a large
crowd and good singing.
There were many visitors at the singing here Sunday night. The class has the new Stamps Convention
books.
There were 95 at Sunday School Sunday. Let's keep the Sunday School growing.
Mrs. Ethel Gideon was a luncheon guest of Mrs. Susie Hudnall Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Cumbie of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Minda Richardson of Athens spent Wednesday night
with Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Williams.
Mrs. Bill Widerman and children and friend of Overton visited Mrs. R. L. Epperson Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Williams and children spent Sunday at Centerview in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Crossley.
Miss Jo Ann Griffin of Unity spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Howard Adair.
Mrs. J. R. Owen and children, Harvey and Gwendolyn, spent Monday with Mrs. S. D. Smith, Mrs. Dot
Seals and son, Jimmy.
Fred Jordan of Tyler spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Jordan.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rounsavall were luncheon guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Pool Sunday.
Mrs. R. H. Tillison visited Mrs. Frankie Dingler of Athens Friday.
Mr. Ellis (Grampa) Williams left Monday for Orlando, Fla., for a visit with his cousins.
Mrs. W. H. Rounsavall and son, Nuleon, are in Bakersfield, Calif., at the bedside of her father, who is
reported critically ill following a heart attack and a stroke two weeks ago.
Mrs. H. S. Arnett is recovering from a severe attack of malaria fever and bronchitis.
Mrs. Carrie Nichols was confined to her bed a few days last week due to a cold.
The condition of John Gideon remains about the same.
Crops are in good shape after the light rain Sunday night and the warm sunshine since. There
are several good patches of tomatoes. Some few will have greens ready to ship in 10 days or two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lane and sons and Fred Jordan were luncheon guest of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Gideon Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hallmark and son visited Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Williams Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Owen of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Owen of Athens were recent visitors in the
J. R. Owen and R. H. Tillison homes.
Glenda Jean and Betty Louise Williams were on the sick list a few days last week.
Dewey Williams had the misfortune to lose a good horse Saturday.
Mrs. Carrie Nichols, her son, A. C. Nichols, and his children visited Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Adair of
New York Monday evening.
Mrs. James Williams and daughters and Mrs. E. W. Adair and daughter visited Mr. and Mrs. G. W.
Adair during the week end.
