East Mill Run
The farmers are getting along nicely with their crops since the
rains. the corn crops are very good.
Health is splendid.
Miss Georgia Miller entertained several of her
friends Friday, night Floyd Pace, Will McKnight, Porter
Broom, Misses Rena
Woodson, Agnes Burr and Georgia Miller
attended the singing at Mallard Prairie Saturday and Sunday.
Mrs. Powdrill went to Rome Saturday to visit her
brother, Dab McElhany.
Bro. Pace went to Wood's School House Saturday
to fill his appointment.
Miss Annie Forerster is visiting in Athens this
week.
There will be preaching at Sand Branch school house second Sunday
in June by Bro. Teague. We hope to have a large
attendance as we are going to try organize a Missionary Baptist
church at that place.
Mrs. Bradley Miller's grandmother, Mrs.
Pruitt has been visiting her the last week.
Miss Audrey Powdrill spent a few days with her
cousin, Miss Essie McElhany last week.
Most of the young men of this community are soldiers now. Guess
they will have a lively time on the encampment this summer.
No weddings yet but we expect several later on.
We are awfully afraid we will lose one of our boys soon as he has
been spending most of his time in Anderson county. Do not
really know the attraction but of course we all have an idea.
The people of this community enjoyed an old Harp singing at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Roberson last Sunday
afternoon.
We had quite a storm Saturday night, but there was not much
damage done.
