Brownsboro, Sep. 16--Our nice shower of Sunday night and cool
spell is surely appreciated.
Our school started the 15th with 265 enrolled the first day. Mr.
Thelma Bass, superintendent, is back for a second term. E. D.
Cotton, principal and Miss Fowler of Fort Worth has English and
Spanish; Lenard Roland of LaRue, 7th and 8th grade; Miss Louise
Ray of Tyler, 5th and 6th ; Alton Tompkins, 5th and 6th grade
also; Miss E. Lockheart of Tyler, 3rd and 4th grades; Miss Gladys
Stuart the beginners; Miss Bass of Ben Wheeler Homes Economics,
Expression, and music.
Those going off to school are Misses Evlyn Browning, Ella
Tidwell, Robert Wyatt, Weldon Browning, Berwin Lewis, Troy
Slaughter to Athens; Ely Bob Ard to T.C.U. Tyler; Miss Elinor and
Milner Moss to Tyler; Miss Mildred Land to Abilene.
Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Killingsworth have moved back to Dallas.
Miss Elaine Ard teaches her 4th term at Kemp. Miss Kathryn Gray
teaches at Eustace, Miss Naomi Lutrick in Oklahoma, Misses
Lillian and Hazel Land at Little Lot, 3 miles northwest of town.
Mrs. Genie Barton and Mrs. Hattie Lewis and children visited in
Ben Wheeler Sunday.
Miss Cloe Tindel returned from Trees, La., Sunday after visiting
ten days.
I. A. Barton and family visited the new oil well a few miles
north of Henderson Sunday.
I. T. Fulgham and family just returned from a motor trip thru
Oklahoma visited in the home of Dr. Brewer at Marlow, Mrs.
Fulgham's brother.
The stork visited our city in two homes, bringing to Mr. and Mrs.
Johnnie Dunkin, a girl and to Mr. and Mrs. A. Paige a boy.
Mrs. C. L. Casey and boys returned Sunday to their home in Kansas
after a few weeks visits with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Johnson have moved back to their home in the
south part of town after living in Athens for several months.
Our gin has ginned up to date 269 bales of cotton; price ranges
around 11cents.
Coach Jimmie Kitts and wife carried their litttle son to Dallas
today where he will have his tonsils removed.
