proud parents of a big boy.
Our school is doing fine. Buck Davis
is our teacher.
Mrs. Pollard and family spent Sunday
in Athens.
Leonard Sweat, Dee and Coy Crow left
for Marlin this morning.
Rupert Moon spent Sunday with Hody
Haugett.
Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Moorman spent Sunday
with Mrs. W.B. Gilbert
Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Murphree and Mr. and
Mrs. Crow went to Van Sunday.
Geoy and Coy Crow, Lucy Jane and
Estine Gilbert, Leonard Sweat and Rupert Moon and Hody Hargett
spent Sunday afternoon in Brownsboro.
Mr. Price of Tyler visited Sunday in
our community.
Mrs. Barton and family spent the
weekend at New York.
The meeting at this place closed Sunday
night.

at Deans Sunday.
Pauline Parker spent Friday night with
Altha Cooper.
Mrs. B.B. Brewster and Grace Moorman
spent Sunday in the home of W.B. Gilbert.
Mrs. Pearl Fielder of Grand Saline
spent Tuesday in the home of Mrs. W.M. Crow.
Mrs. Lavern Terrell has been visiting
Mrs. Henry Wyatt.
Emma May Murphree spent Friday night
with Edythe Gilbert.
Mrs. Addie John Glaze has been on sick
list.
Vinia Lee Crow visited in Athens
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Riley visited in
our community Sunday.

New York, March 31-
Well folks Ive always heard that
all dogs have their day and I think mine is here. for Ive
been having a swell time the last few days (I have the mumps).-
(Awfully sorry to hear that you are ill and
hope you are feeling better today)
Quincy Garrett is at home now from
school.
There was quite a large crowd out for
the Moosberg show last Wednesday night, but were disappointed, as
he did not come.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lane are visiting
relatives and friends here.
The party at W.T. Crossleys
Saturday night was enjoyed by all present.
Miss Annie Hall visited in her
Uncles home, H.C. Hall Monday.
There are several more cases of mumps
in the community now.
Miss Juanita Lou Cumbie f Athens spent
Saturday night and Sunday with her aunt, Mrs. J.B. Gauntt of this
place.
Mrs. Green of Houston is visiting her
daughter, Mrs. J.C. Bogard here.
Brian Daughtry and wife of Elgin,
Bastrop County, are visiting friends and relatives here.
Despite the rain and bad weather the
graduation exercises for the school term 1929-1930 was held last
Thursday night. Those receiving diplomas were Clint Boles, Bert
Gauntt and Lula Morrow and those receiving Grammar school
diplomas were Aleta Hall, Thelma Bogard, Lula Bell Wimberley,
Maurice Ledbetter, Ina Walton, Clark and Harley Howeth and Truman
Christopher. Dr. Easterling of Athens gave the address, which was
greatly enjoyed by all.
Mrs. D.P. Morrow visited in the home
of her brother, T.H. Hall of LaRue Sunday.
We are very glad to report
Uncle Bill Finney much improved after having had a
stroke of paralysis last Thursday morning shortly before day.
Miss Lorene Townley spent Saturday
night with her sister, Mrs. Scar Morgan.
We were very glad to have visitors
from Baxter at the singing Friday night and invite them back
again.
Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Cury of Big
Springs, Texas is visiting now.
Mrs. Dennis Sholars is visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Tindel
