Rev. T. C. Sharp Interred Monday Here In Athens
Rev. T. C. Sharp, 78, well known retired Methodist minister of Athens, died in a Shreveport hospital at 12:30 p.m. Saturday after a long illness.
A native of Jacksonville, Rev. Sharp had lived in Athens for only four years but during that brief span of time gained the respect and love of everyone who knew him.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church of Athens with burial in the local cemetery.
Officicating ministers were Rev. M. M. Davis, Rev. Oscar W. Hooper and Rev. R. C. Perry.
Pallbearers were Winston Nowlin, Bill Richards, Dick Derden, R. T. Craig, A. R. Stripling, Frank LaRue and Beaty Jones.
Survivors include five sons, T. R. Sharp of Tyler, Tom C. Sharp of Waco, Lack C. Sharp of Washington, D. C., Milton Sharp of Temple, and Hugh Sharp of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Guy M. Matlock of Corsicana and Mrs. H. A. Herrington of Shreveport; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hassell-Foster Funeral Home directed.

Dr. Brandau Dies in Houston; Rites Monday at Four
Mrs. I. E. Black, in a telephone message to Mrs. C. M. Weekley Sunday, told of the death of Dr. George Brandau, which occurred Sunday morning at 9 o'clock in Houston.
Funeral services were conducted Monday evening at 4 p.m. at the Pat Floley Funeral Home.
Dr. Bradau, who had been ill for more than a year, was the husband of the former Miss Frances Black, daughter of Mrs. L. E. Black of Athens.

Bradshaw Rites Held Here At 3 Sunday Afternoon
Mrs. J. J. Bradshaw, 85, life long resident of Henderson County, died Saturday morning at her home on East Tyler Street.
The daughter of a Methodist miister, Rev. J. C. Walker, she was born in the New York community on Nov. 18, 1866.
She was married to the late J. J. Bradshaw on October 14, 1886. He preceded her in death in 1914.
She was a member of the Athens Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with Rev. M. M. Davis and Rev. D .H. Bonner officiating.
Burial was in the Athens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were E. G. Walker, Hobson Green, Turner Gauntt, Leon Barron, J. P. Pickens, Louis Hounsel, John Albert Jones and Owen Killingsworth.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Bradshaw of Pineville, Louisiana, and Jim Bradshaw of Trinidad; six daughters Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Laura Murphy and Mrs. W .E. Henry all of Athens; Mrs. Frank Denman of Tyler, Mrs. Jack Zachry of Longview, and Mrs. Ray Bassett of Fort Worth; 17 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Son is born Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sharpe
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sharpe announce the arrival of a son, Daniel Albert.
Born in Medical Center Hospital at Tyler Saturday night, he weighed six pounds and nine and one-half ounces.
Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Pickens, formerly of Athens.
Both mother and baby are doing fine.
Oscar Summers Passes Sunday; Funeral Monday
Oscar C. Summers, 75, Malakoff, died Sunday morning in an Athens hospital.
A native of Mississippi, Mr. Summers moved to Malakoff from San Saba, texas in March of 1951. He was justice of the peace and also a real estate man in San Saba.
He was a member of the San Saba Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church at Malakoff with Rev. Walter Cannan and Rev. L. B. Fowler officiating.
Burial was in the Athens Cemetery.
The Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165 was in charge of graveside services.
Survivors include his wife of Malakoff; a son V. C. Summers of Stanton; two daughters Mrs. T. F. Boatright of Fort Worth and Mrs. Lynn Larkin of Tyler; two brothers E. E. Summers of Corpus Christi and Rev. L. C. Summers of Snyder, Oklahoma; three sisters, Miss Ollie Summers of Brinkman, Oklahoma; Mrs. Nanny cherry, also of Brinkman, and Mrs. Ella Veech of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home directed.

Stringer Rites Set Tuesday at Holley Springs
Funeral services will be held in the Holley Springs Methodist Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock for Walter L. Stringer, 73, Rt. 2, Ben Wheeler.
He was the father of Mrs. Joe H. Owen, Athens.
Burial will be in the Holley Springs Cemetery, with masons in charge at the graveside.
A native of the Martins Mill area. Mr. Stringer lived most of his lifetime in Van Zandt County. He had been a member of the Methodist Church since 1903.
He married the former Miss Ora Nixon, who survives.
Other survivors besides his widow include two daughters, Mrs. Joe H. Owen of Athens and Mrs. Gordon F. Morrow of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two brothers J. D. Stringer of Tyler and C. B. Stringer of Gainesville; 4 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Walter Robinson and Son Dismissed From Hospital
Athens friends of the Walter Robinson family of Dallas, will be glad to learn that Mr. Robinson and son, parks, who were injured in a automobile accident at Holdenville Oklahoma during the holidays, were dismissed from the hospital Saturday.
They were carried from a Holdenville hospital to the home of Mr. Robinson's mother in Wetmuka, where they will rest for a few days before being brought to their home in Mesquite.
Mr. Robinson suffered several broken ribs and a lung injury. Parks, who was more seriously injured, will be under the care of a Dallas, physician for quite some time.

Cooley Funeral Held Sunday at 2 in Corsicana
W. E. Cooley, 61, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. B. Parker, in Corsicana last Saturday.
Funeral services were held from the Griffin Chapel Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.
The services were conducted by Rev. Joe T. Poe, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were C. T. Clay, Bernice Pollick, M. D. Shook, H. A. Allred, Jesse N. Bradford, and Preston Allred.
Survivors include his wife of Corsciana; three sons, Troy Cooley, Kerens, S. J. Cooley, Midland; and Willie Lee Cooley of West Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Parker, Corsicana, mother Mrs. Annie Cooley, Memphis Tennessee; two brothers, J. F. Cooley, Chandler and Shade Cooley, Memphis; a sister Miss Nina Mae Cooley, Memphis; six grandchildren and other relatives.
