A Double Wedding
Married at the residence of R. H. Hodge of Barry, October 28, 1900, Rev. Lockett officiating, Miss Hattie Lee Dunklin to Mr. J. H. Hodge, and Miss Maggie Hodge to Mr. Will Hood. There was a large crowd in attendance and a fine dinner in honor of the occasion. Little Earl Varnell and Mildred Hodge scattered roses in their pathway. Messrs. Hodge and Hood are industrious, sober and honest men. Mr. Hodge and Miss Maggie were raised inHenderson county, and belong to one of the best families of the county. The young ladies are general favorites in the community and are noted for those estimable and amiable qualities that adorn womanly character. May they all be happy and prosperous through life is the wish of the writer.
A FRIEND.

A Shooting a Malakoff
Last Monday evening occurred a difficulty in Malakoff in which Tex Boyett was shot by W. B. Payne. There are different accounts of the affair, but for the interest of all parties concerened we give none of them. The ball passed entirely through Boyett's body very close to the heart. He had been doing very well up to midnight Wednesday, but yesterday morning was thought to be worse. Payne left immediately after the shooting and had not been apprehended at last accounts yesterday morning. There were two shots fired but only one person struck.
At the time of going to press there was no change in the condition of Mr. Boyett.
