CROSS ROADS
July 27, -- Every one is glad to see the sun shine again after
so much rain last week.
The Baptist revival closed Thursday night. It proved to be very
unsuccessful as there was not a member received.
George Welch is in the sanitarium at Palestine where he was
operated
on for appendicitis. He is doing nicely at this writing.
Miss Tessie Rhoades returned home Saturday from Tyler where she
has been attending school. She has finished at T. C. C. and is
now
ready for a position.
Lee Boyd was the guest of Miss Mildred Cherry Sunday.
Misses Thelma and Lola Barton, Messrs Volton Alexander and Buster
Houstage attended church at Willow Springs Sunday night.
Mrs. J. R. Barton spent the weekend with her brother, Bud Anding.
Miss Nettie B. Welch, Ruby Lou Rhoades and Mr. Elbert Williams
were the
guest of Miss Beatrice Barton Sunday night.
M/M I. B. Welch and daughter Nettie B., Dr. R. A. Matthews and
family
attended church at Becks Chapel Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Eula Thornton and son, Eulen spent Saturday night at the
home
of M/M I. B. Welch.
M/M Tom Morrison were the week-end guest of M/M Dyre Morrison at
Malakoff.
Mr. J. U. Nelson's home was completed last week.
Born to M/M George Shelton a girl.
Miss Neoma Nelson left Sunday for Houston where she goes to visit
her brother.
M/M Lester Kinnabrew and children left Monday for West Texas
where they
will visit relatives.
M/M J. U. Nelson and family and M/M Edgar Wynn left Monday for
Arkansas.
