Coal Discovered
Malakoff Tex.
Dec 11 1887
Business is active and better than for several years.
Several new buildings have been erected.
One carload of coal was shipped to Corsicana today, and samples
have been expressed to various parts of the State. Prospects for
its discovery of coal adds greatly to the life of our county, and
many parties from the western counties are purchasing homes here.
This is doubtless the best county for cheap homes in the State,
land for sale being cheap and on long payments.
W. P. Lucus, who recently received a carload of fine cattle from
Missouri, has made several fine sales.
The late rise of the Trinity River has surrounded a great many
cattle, which is causing considerable stir among the stockmen
driving their cattle out of the back water.
