Ash Fruit Spur in Henderson County Sells Twenty-Six Cars
Athens, Texas
July 21 1906
Ash Fruit Spur in Henderson County, has had the banner crop of
peaches. Twenty-six cars of Elbertas were sold to a syndicate of
St. Louis buyers headed by W. F. Brockman of this city as follows;
J. F. Ash 40 acres, 8,954 crates sold for $3,595.40; J. R. Dean,
10 acres, 5,955 crates sold for $2,412.00; Ben Madole, 20 acres,
6,459 crates, sold for $2,683.60; T. V. Loving, 10 acres, 3,254
crates sold for $1,324.70; J. B. Lewis, 4 acres, 879 crates sold
for $351.60, making a total 26,401 crates for $10,367.30 off of
84 acres. In addition to this growers have shipped about 150,000
pounds of other varieties by express.
