Sandy Thompson

"

Sandy" Thompson is my grandfather.  He was born in 1874 and died 12 June, 1924 in Waco, Texas.

He served in World War I as a member of the Mechanized 19th Field Artillery, 5th Division.  The photo was taken probably at Camp Bragg, North Carolina, where he appears in the 1920 census.

Sandy Thompson was an architect who came to Malakoff and built several homes, most notably the historic Flagg house in Malakoff.

He married my grandmother, Carrie Amanda Miles, lifelong resident of Malakoff.  They had one son, my father, the late Major Arthur Miles "Buddy" Thompson.
