Joe was born in the Rome Community in Henderson County, Texas on Feb. 2, 1921. He is the son of the late Perry F. and Jesse V. (Miller) Trammell. Joe married Thelma Hawkins Sept. 14, 1946 and they had five children; Peggy, Joe, Jr., Dennis, Michael, and Theresa. Joe is retired from the City of Athens where he served the People of Athens for 35 years.
