Comments: Ernest L. BECKHAM was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 1 and
World War 2. He served in France in WW1.  As a young man he served under
the command of Gen. John J. (Black Jack) PERSHING in the border skirmish
against Pancho VILLA. His wife, Clara, who  resided in Athens, Texas,
after his death was a descendent of Norwegian families who established
the first Texas Norwegian settlement at Brownsboro.
