Comments: Ancel W. Brown was the son of Sarah Smith born 02 Sept. 1802 in
Franklin County, Ga. & James Brown born ca 1801 in Georgia. His parents
were married on the 16th. Feb. 1822 in Franklin County, Ga. The 1850 &
1860 Census records for Randolph County, Al. shows his birthplace as
Alabama. His sister Nancy (Brown) Ball was my grt. grt. grandmother.
Nancy & Ancel's grandfather Gabriel Smith, Jr. joined the army at age 16
to fight as a Revolutionary War Soldier.

Brown Family Bible

Ancel W. Brown is buried at Shelby Chapel Cemetery. His father was James Brown & his mother was Sarah Smith. Please add this info. I don't really know anything else on the Brown family. Ancel's also had a nephew William F. Ball who migrated to Henderson County from Randolph County. Ancel's sister Nancy lived in Young County, Tx. & probably migrated there with her daughter Nancy & husband from Alabama.    Patricia Griggs Stricklin spstricklin@earthlink.net
