Court Notes

The case of Coleman Fisher charged with burglary was on trial this morning. At noon the court was waiting on Claude Anderson, a witness in the case. An attachment was issued for him.
The case case of Calvin Bennet charged with forgery was set for this afternoon.
???? ????? cases have been disposed of:
Will Smith, burglary, on two counts, 2 years with suspended sentence in first count. second case dismissed.
Henry Verreggee, swindling, dismissed. Defect in indictment. Verreggee was re-arrested and bound over to await the action of the grand jury.
Coy Lacy, theft from person, not guilty.
Troy Phillips, burglary, 5 years in the penitentiary. He was given a suspended sentence. Phillips with his brother, was charged with stealing cotton in the Chandler section. His brother broke away from Constable Jim Coleman while being brought to jail here and is still at large.
Jabb Burton, bootlegging, dismissed.
The case of Ossie Harris charged with assault with attempt to murder was set for Monday.
